Hola! Nice to meet you!

My name is Lissy Marlin. I am an award winning, NYT best selling illustrator from Dominican Republic with a simple mission:

To bring a little bit of magic to everyday life,
one piece of art at a time!

My professional career started as Lead Artist at GoldieBlox, a small start-up in San Francisco dedicated to inspire the next generation of female engineers through interactive toys and educational content.
Because of this, my  often work exists between the world of toys and animation where I often work as a character designer.

Presently, I spend my days as freelance illustrator from my home in Philadelphia working in the publishing industry where I've gotten the fortune to illustrate book covers, picture books and fun middle grade novels such as Neil Patrick Harris's The Magic Misfits Series.

Now I'm taking my work even further by writing and illustrating original graphic novels, reuniting with my life-time passion for Japanese Manga.

Art is Human

Keep Ai out of Artists Spaces

Art is inherently a part of all of us. As artists, it is the air we breathe, the food we consume and it represents countless years of effort, struggle and self expression. It is the power we wield in order to bring imagination into reality, and it is something that will remain after we are gone as part of our history for future civilizations.

In recent years, my work and the work of my peers has been used to train GenAi without any notice, consent or compensation.
Countless class action lawsuits have tied my name to Ai companies with insatiable greed, determined in burning the world in order to increase profits, silencing creators of diverse backgrounds, and controlling the media we consume without crediting artists, compensating them, or bypassing years of expertise and morality in order to enrich themselves and their peers.

I have no use for Generative Ai in my life. I can recognize Ai for the scam that it is because every company that has invested money on this tech has made sure to include it in everything we use in the hopes that, at some point, it will make return on investment. But a tech that works as intended and is primed for success does not need force to be accepted by the masses. I cannot control the ways that Ai will show up in my life, but I still have free will.

I will never willingly support any company, brand or person that uses Generative Ai and all requests for collaborations from said individuals will be rejected.

If you have a Generative Ai project for me,
please go elsewhere— I’m not interested.
